I’ve really appreciated the support of you my readers over the past 2+ years I’ve had this blog. Now I’d like to ask for a favor. I’m currently in the running in the Tasteful Selections “Sneak Peak” Recipe contest. You may remember that exactly one month ago I turned a bag of their potatoes into some Potato Pancakes with Apple-Bacon Chutney. Well, now the finalists were ask to recreate their recipe in a video. If you’d like to help me out by voting for mine just check out the video here and click that you ‘like it.’ If nothing else you may enjoy watching me look incredibly awkward in front of the camera. I guess it’s a good thing I never considered broadcast journalism as my major. I also highly recommend making these. I made them again for the video and forgot how good they were. In other news, Oliver and I returned from a week long visit to see my parents today. I did a lot of cooking so I cannot wait to post about what I was up to, including a couple of delicious salmon recipes. Thanks in advance for the support and I’ll be back with another post soon.

And I love this recipe, I’ve already bookmarked it. I love all kinds of pancake and with autumn around the corner, potato pancakes are so comforting. And the apple-bacon chutney would take them from hum-drum to company worthy.

I bet that apple-bacon chutney would be good on so many things: Grilled cheese sammies, smeared on toast, alongside a pork roast, and maybe stuffed into fresh figs.
