National Bake Sale for a Good Cause

by Kelly on April 15, 2010

FB_BakeSale_BadgeIf you’ve been reading my blog for awhile they you know I love a good bake sale, especially if it benefits a cause I believe in.  Because of this, when I heard about the National Food Bloggers Bake Sale I knew I wanted to participate.  All across the country bloggers will be holding bake sales this Saturday, April 17, in order to raise mone for Share Our Strength, which is all about ending childhood hunger.  I especially love bake sales because they mean you can make a difference even if you only have the cost of a cookie to donate.  I’m planning on making an updated version of my Deep Chocolate Brownies with Chevre Swirls so if you’re in the Chicago area you can stop by our local bake sale to try some of those and lots of delicious goodies from other bloggers like Maris of In Good Taste.  But if you’re not in Chicago, don’t fret because there may be one in your local area as well.  The full list is available on the website of What’s Gaby Cooking, the awesome organizer of the whole event.

And don’t forget there is still time to enter to win my Calphalon omelette pan set giveaway from Cookware.com. Check out my post here to enter through Friday, April 16 at 12 AM Eastern time.

For some reason when I think about bake sales, brownies and cookies usually come to mind.  But I’m curious, what are everyone else’s favorites?  Do you go for something that is tried and true or a recipe that is new?  (Did not intend for that to rhyme BTW.)
